Tehran, April 4 /Xin Hua/ — At least five people were wounded as a result of strikes carried out by the USA and Israel on several oil chemical companies on Saturday morning in Khuzestan province in southwestern Iran, the semi-official news agency Tasnim reported.
The agency quotes the Deputy Governor of Khuzestan on security and law enforcement issues, Valiollāh Khayāti, who said that the likelihood of further casualties is very high.
He added that the border trade terminal “Shalamcheh” in the city of Khorramshahr was also attacked and sustained serious damage.
On February 28, Israel and the United States carried out joint strikes on Tehran and several other Iranian cities, resulting in the death of the supreme leader of Iran, Ali Khamenei, as well as high-ranking military commanders and civilians. Iran responded by attacking Israeli and American targets in the Middle East using missiles and drones.
