Washington, June 3 /Xin Hua/ — The United States House of Representatives on Wednesday approved a resolution limiting the powers of American President Donald Trump to continue military operations against Iran. In the vote, a quarter of Republicans joined the Democrats.
A resolution passed by 215 votes against 208 instructs D. Trump to withdraw American troops from the combat zone against Iran if Congress does not sanction further military actions.
D. Trump enjoyed overwhelming support from his fellow Republicans when the war began. However, as the war dragged on and its end was not in sight, some Republicans began to hesitate. –0–
