On June 3, 2026, on the eve of his 70th birthday, Alexey Vladimirovich Mozhin, a prominent statesman, passed away.
In December 2024, he assumed the position of Advisor to the Chairman of the Bank of Russia. However, both in Russia and abroad, he was primarily known as the permanent representative of the Russian Federation to the International Monetary Fund. He held this post for 32 years (1992–2024) and was a dean of the IMF Executive Board.
Aleksey Vladimirovich made a significant contribution to the implementation of initiatives important for Russia on the international stage. He was awarded state honors.
