Economy, Society, and Security: GUU Scientists Participated in an International Scientific Conference Session

Representatives of GUU spoke about the contradictions of modern migration policy at the International Scientific Conference-Session “State Governance and Development of Russia: Values, Challenges”,“priorities”, timed to the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia.

Professor of the Department of Public Administration and Political Technologies Vladimir Volodin and senior lecturer of the same department Svetlana Stepanova presented the report “New migration policy: political and social aspects”.

Scientists paid attention to the contradictions of Russia’s migration policy: on the one hand, the economy is experiencing a personnel shortage, on the other hand, there is public dissatisfaction with newcomers, and law enforcement agencies see certain risks in migrants. In the current situation, a deep analysis of migration processes and adequate state measures are required.

At the same time, researchers recognized the important role of the Concept of state migration policy until 2030, aimed at ensuring the security of citizens, improving legislation, and supporting economic growth through reasonable and controlled migration.

In the section “Unity and Diversity of the Peoples of Russia in the Context of Global Transformations,” the first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Nationalities, member of the Presidium of the Council under the President of the Russian Federation for Interethnic Relations Ildar Gilmudinov, deputy general director of the All-Russian Public Organization “Assembly of the Peoples of Russia” for regional development, project coordinator for work with regions Nazirzhon Abduganiev, president of the International Union of Interethnic Journalism, chief editor of the portal “National Accent” Margarita Lyang, and the responsible secretary of the Commission on issuesof the informational support and international cooperation of the Council under the President of the Russian Federation on international relations Andrey Khudoleyev, and others.

Speakers discussed key documents regulating the country’s national and migration policy, and its improvement taking into account modern trends.

to preserve the culture, languages, and traditions of the peoples of Russia, to establish relations between representatives of different nationalities and religions. They also spoke about how effective the current methods of work in this area are.

Special attention was paid to the interaction of state bodies and public organizations in order to strengthen the unity of the country, preserve and develop the spiritual and moral values of the peoples of Russia, and harmonize interethnic and interreligious relations.

As a result of the conference, a collection of materials will be published, which will become an important contribution to the formation of a modern and effective model of state migration management in the country.
