Washington, June 3 /Xin Hua/ — The US Armed Forces struck “in self-defense” against the Iranian island of Qeshm in response to “attempted attacks by Iran across the entire Middle East” on Tuesday, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) reported.
American military struck an Iranian ground control station on the island of Qeshm near the Strait of Hormuz, CENTCOM reported on Monday, adding that no American personnel were injured.
“Iran launched several ballistic missiles toward neighbors in the region, but none of them hit the intended targets,” the command statement said.
“Two Iranian missiles fired at Kuwait fell short or were destroyed in flight, while three missiles fired at Basra were immediately intercepted by US and Basra air defense forces,” the command statement said.
