China remains one of Moscow’s most important international partners in the field of tourism. “Cooperation between Moscow and the tourist and cultural sectors of China is not limited to formal agreements on paper. Many joint projects have already been successfully implemented and have elicited a positive response among the residents of the two capitals. This autumn, Moscow will hold a series of major events in Beijing and other cities and provinces of China.”Together with Hunan Province, it is planned to organize joint cultural events; together with the Beijing government, preparations are underway for the launch of a thematic train in the Beijing metro, as well as the promotion of the city brand in public transport. Residents will be presented with Moscow and its various urban projects on the train and other types of transport. In addition, the Moscow Museum, together with the Capital Museum in Beijing, is preparing an exhibition dedicated to Moscow tea traditions. This was stated by the chairman of the Moscow City Tourism Committee, Evgeny Kozlov, at the presentation of Moscow tourism, which took place on the evening of June 2 in Beijing.

According to available data, the growing number of tourists confirms the effectiveness of this work: in the first quarter of 2026, Moscow received 130 thousand Chinese tourists, which is 30% more compared to the same period last year. The portrait of the Chinese tourist is also changing: there are more and more young independent travelers aged 18 to 35 who aim for authentic urban experiences and are not satisfied with merely sightseeing traditional attractions.

To meet the growing and changing needs of Chinese tourists, Moscow is developing a more advanced service ecosystem in the field of culture and tourism in the Chinese language. This includes launching the “Discover Moscow” tourism portal and its accounts on Chinese social networks, providing consultations in Chinese at the tourist information center, as well as continuously improving related services such as excursions, city navigation, and menus for public catering establishments in Chinese. All this is aimed at making travel more convenient and comfortable for Chinese tourists.
