Moscow Drama Theater “Benefis” invites you to the play “Three Sisters.”

The action of relocation takes place in a provincial town where the sisters who moved from Moscow—Olga, Masha, and Irina—live, as well as their brother Andrey. After the death of their father, a general, they lose their former sense of purpose. The sisters constantly recall Moscow, where they strive to return, associating this city with hopes for a happy and beautiful life.

Officer Vershinin, contemplating the wonderful future two hundred — three hundred years ahead, draws Masha into a novel that becomes the only ray of light for her. Baron Tuzenbach talks to Irina about love and the possibility of starting a new, working life. Staff Captain Solyony, gloomy and sarcastic, is also secretly in love with Irina.

However, life flows in its own sequence and gradually destroys the illusions of heroes. The sisters remain alone in a desolate town, with shattered dreams. Olga, hugging her sister, talks about loneliness and simply patiently continues to live and hopes that someday the suffering will find meaning and future generations will be happy.
