In the art pavilion of the “Made in Moscow” project, a brand created by students of the capital’s colleges was presented for the first time. From June 1, residents and guests of the capital have the opportunity to purchase products made by young craftsmen at the site“Summer in Moscow”… — from clothing and silk scarves to decorative items and souvenirs. This was reported byAnastasia Rakova, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Social Development.
Students of the capital’s colleges already produce competitive and in-demand products during their studies, which can enter the large city market. The young people work in modern workshops and laboratories, master the full production cycle, create their own collections, and participate in real projects. For example, they manufacture quality furniture for schools, create decor for polyclinics, prepare dishes, and already welcome guests at their own restaurant “Meeting of Friends.” To introduce residents to the products of our students, this year we launched the brand “Made by the Colleges of Moscow.”The guys created collections inspired by Russian classics, cultural heritage, and a modern youth perspective. Among the items are silk scarves, books with quotes from Leo Tolstoy, original ornaments and lace, decorative items, souvenirs, and much more. The brand is presented in the art pavilion “Made in Moscow” at the site of the “Summer in Moscow” project. Thus, students can already during their studies see the results of their work in a real urban space and gain experience creating a sought-after product for Muscovites,” noted Anastasia Rakova.
So, a collection “Tolstoy’s Diaries” is presented at the site. Entries from the personal diaries of the great writer were included in the collection, and his famous quotes, thanks to the skill of college students, appeared on T-shirts, tote bags, silk scarves, blankets, notebooks, folders, and other products.
T-shirts and tote bags for the collection were sewn by students of Technological Colleges No. 24 and 34 and the First Moscow Educational Complex. And the design and production of gift packaging and printing were carried out by students of the Moscow L.B. Krasin Creative Industries Technikum and the Ivan Fedorov Moscow Publishing and Printing College.
In addition, students of Technological College No. 34 created a unique collection of T-shirts called “There is an Alternative.” The original prints reflect the Russian cultural code and contain bright national ornaments and lace.
“Together with a creative group of student designers, we worked on a series of prints for the project ‘Summer in Moscow’: we were looking for inspiration, selecting visual images, experimenting with design and composition techniques. Special attention was paid to revealing the theme of Russia. Not in the form of familiar posters, but one that lives in the soul of each of us. We wanted to create not just beautiful things, but products that will gift buyers a summer mood and will delight with beauty and quality for a long time,” said Ekaterina Yudina, a second-year student of Technological College No. 34 specializing in “Design.”
Future artists-designers of light industry products from the Karl Fabergé College of Decorative Arts have created a collection of silk scarves. The masters made handcrafted products featuring images of lemons and flowers using the cold batik technique. In addition, they developed a series of silk scarves with quotes from Lev Tolstoy — fragments from the story “After the Ball” and the writer’s personal diary, executed in sublimation printing technique.
The guys practically mastered all the key stages of work in garment manufacturing. They selected materials, created patterns, cut fabric, sewed products on modern equipment, processed seams, and checked the quality of the finished products. While working on the “Flowers” collection, the students developed sketches and painted the fabric.Scarves with images of delicate blue forget-me-nots and apple blossoms can be seen and purchased by Muscovites and visitors of the capital, shared Veronika Volkova, a second-year student of the College of Decorative and Applied Arts named after Karl Fabergé, specializing in “Artistic Design of Textile and Light Industry.” She hopes that these products will please buyers not only in summer.
In addition, in the pavilion, you can find products made from wood by students of the Moscow College of Architecture and Urban Planning and the Moscow Industrial College: dishes, toys, serving boards, and decorative boxes for packaging, as well as students from the Moscow State Educational Complex, the College of Architecture, Design, and Reengineering No. 26 and Technological College No. 21, who made figurine soap in the shape of animals and fruits, candles, and packaging for them.Students of Service College No. 10 and the Moscow Technological College named after I.A. Liyachev also participated in the development and production of the products presented to the townspeople.
Products by young craftsmen can be purchased at the art pavilions “Samovar” and “Vishnya” on Arbat, as well as at the pavilion “Air Balloon” on Trubnaya Square and at the Summer Market on Bolotnaya Square.
