Beijing, June 2 /Xin Hua/ — Philippine Defense Minister Gilberto Teodoro has repeatedly made unfounded statements against China, which seriously undermine China-Philippines relations and mutual bilateral trust, and also completely contradict the interests of the Philippines and its people, the official representative of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs Mao Ning stated on Tuesday.
China hopes that the Philippine side will adhere to its words in practice, strictly limit statements and actions of its officials, and will not allow certain unscrupulous actors to constantly undermine the efforts of the parties to stabilize relations between the two countries, said the Chinese diplomat at the regular departmental press conference, commenting in response to journalists’ requests on the statements of the Philippine Defense Minister at the “Shangri-La Dialogue” conference in 2026. -0-
