On Children’s Day, the policemen delighted the little patients of the surgical department of the NII phthisiopulmonology of Saint Petersburg. Students and staff of Politea collected ten “boxes of kindness” with gifts for the children.

“Box of Cheer” is a charitable project that allows children to overcome fear of medical procedures and brightens their stay in the hospital. The treatment is for children of various ages: there are very young kids as well as teenagers, so the volunteers collected gifts that everyone will like. Among the gifts are toys for boys and girls, puzzles, coloring books, crayons and markers, books, sweets, and much more.

This time, gifts were distributed to children by employees of the Public Relations Department, the Material and Technical Support Department, and the Institute of Industrial Management, Economics and Trade.

We found out about this campaign before the New Year. We all gladly decided to participate. We collected money and bought toys, and now personally came to distribute gifts to the children. We want to make the stay of the children in the hospital more comfortable, to support them during this difficult period,” shared Yana Davydova, assistant at the Higher Engineering and Economic School of IPMEIT.

The Deputy Head of the Warehouse Service Department of UMTO Tatiana Kudryavtseva only recently learned about the “Box of Kindness” campaign: I immediately felt the desire to come here, help the children, and make my good contribution. I believe this is a very good initiative. Children and their parents should not feel lonely in such a difficult situation. Everyone needs help and support, and such visits charge with positivity.

Volunteers did not leave anyone unattended, visited all wards and communicated with everyone. All the children were very happy with the gifts, each chose what they liked. Coloring books were especially popular this time. It was also very pleasant for the parents that there are so many caring people ready to make the children happy and brighten their stay in the hospital.

There were so many gifts given, and even more left. Everything that the children didn’t take immediately was left in the hospital, taken to the medical offices. This will help young patients not to be afraid of the procedure, it will give them strength and courage.
