Beijing, June 1 /Xin Hua/ — The international community must remain in a state of heightened vigilance in order to jointly prevent and decisively suppress the growth of Japanese neo-militarism, said on Monday the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PRC, Lin Qian.

At his daily press conference, the Chinese diplomat responded to a question from media representatives regarding the recent statement by the Japanese defense minister. At the 23rd “Shangri-La Dialogue” conference, held in Singapore, the Japanese defense minister denied accusations directed at Japan that it is a “neo-militaristic” country.

According to Lin Qizhang, the corresponding rhetoric of the Japanese official is absolutely groundless and unjustified in the face of historical arguments, legal grounds, as well as facts and figures related to the issue, which makes it impossible for Japan to gain the trust of its Asian neighbors and the international community.
