The fastest growth in the first quarter of 2026 was in pension reserves of non-state pension funds (NPFs) – primarily due to the inflow of funds into the long-term savings program (LSS), as well as as a result of received investment income.

Most people choose PDS because of the possibility to transfer their pension savings there. Thanks to this, for the first time in 5 years, the picture of transfers in one campaign has changed: instead of an outflow of NPF clients to Socfond, a reverse trend has emerged.

In just the first 3 months of 2026, more than 1.3 million people joined the PDS, the volume transferred to the accumulation program amounted to 143.7 billion rubles, 63.7 billion rubles of saver contributions were credited. A total of 10.3 million citizens participate in the program.

The return on pension fund portfolios has decreased slightly: pension savings funds earned 13.1% annually on investments, while pension reserve investments earned 13.9%. The return was mainly provided by coupons on bonds. Pension funds bought more OFZs, primarily with a fixed coupon yield, and fewer corporate bonds.
