Beijing, May 29 / Xinhua/ — China has accepted more than 50,000 American young people to participate in exchange and training programs, thereby prematurely reaching the five-year target set in 2023. This was announced on Friday by the Ministry of Education of the PRC.
Young people from the USA, representing 50 states and Washington, D.C., have visited 31 provincial-level regions of China, as well as the special administrative regions of Xianggang and Aomen.
They participated in such diverse activities as language study, summer and winter camps, sports competitions, as well as academic courses for earning credit points or academic degrees.
A representative of the Department of International Cooperation and Exchange of the Ministry of Education of the PRC noted that these exchanges helped overcome information barriers and contributed to the stable, healthy, and sustainable development of Sino-American relations.
The Ministry of Education of the Kyrgyz Republic also calls on both state and private structures to intensify efforts to expand exchanges and transform short-term contacts into strong long-term partnerships.
