On May 28, the results of the competition “Concept of spatial development of municipalities” were summed up, which was conducted by the Committee on Urban Planning Policy of the Leningrad Region. The goal of the competition is to search for architectural and design solutions for the public spaces of the region. The best concepts may become the basis for real projects in cities and rural settlements.

This year, 36 works were submitted to the competition by professional architects, designers, artists, creative teams, architectural bureaus, scientific and expert organizations, as well as students from specialized universities in three nominations: wooden pavilion, 3D-printed pavilion, pavilion made of vine and cane.

As a result of the competition in the nomination “Concept of a reciprocal pavilion made of wood,” the first place was taken by the creative team of SPbGASU with the project “Whole.” It includes –Ekaterina Zherebtsova, Yulia BeloborodovaиAlena Kozlova.

A reciprocal structure is a quickly assembled construction made from beams or logs that are laid in a circle and rest against each other. Each element simultaneously serves as a support for the neighboring one and is supported by another, allowing the span to be covered without internal supports.

Our students are not participating for the first time in a similar competition, which allows participants to quickly go through the path from idea to a real object.

So, earlier theywon the competition of the regional Committee for Urban Development for the parklet project– a compact recreational area in the city. This project is already being implemented in the region and was recognized at the prestigious architectural competition “Golden Trezini” as the best project of a small architectural form in public space.

Congratulations on the victory and we wish new creative successes!
