Beijing, May 29 /Xin Hua/ — China hopes that more and more young people from China and the USA will take up the baton of friendship between the two countries, in order to make a new contribution to the stable, healthy, and sustainable development of bilateral relations, said the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, Mao Ning, on Friday.
Mao Ning made this statement at another departmental press conference. Since the initiative to “invite 50 thousand young Americans to China for exchange and study programs over five years” was proposed in November 2023, more than 50 thousand American teenagers have visited China, reaching the intended target 2.5 years ahead of the planned schedule. -0-
