On the last Friday of spring, the State University of Management celebrates the anniversary of Professor Vladimir Godin, head of the Department of Information Systems, Doctor of Economics, Honored Worker of Higher Professional Education of the Russian Federation, Vice-President of the Russian Association of Business Education, full member of RAEN, AVN, and RMA.
The professor has devoted most of his life to our university: in 1979 he completed his studies in the specialty “Economic Cybernetics” and climbed all the steps of the career ladder, from assistant professor to director of the Institute, vice-rector, and even head of the university.
It was he who helped the university adapt to the era of computerization and digitization, conducted large-scale work on the implementation of new technologies in educational processes, defended and supported the university’s image in a difficult time, and laid the foundations of business education at GUU.
At the same time, Vladimir Viktorovich defended his doctoral dissertation, received the title of professor, wrote dozens of scientific papers, patented an invention, and created several computer programs.
Thanks to his intellectual developments, love for science, and dedication to his work, he earned respect and recognition in the academic community, became a member of the Academy of Military Sciences, the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, and the Russian Municipal Academy, and also received the title of Honorary Worker of Higher Professional Education of the Russian Federation.
We wholeheartedly congratulate one of the most dedicated university staff members on their milestone birthday, wishing an uninterrupted flow of inspiration, continuous expansion of acquaintances, reliable partners, and talented students. We are confident that many more years of growth and prosperity lie ahead together with our alma mater. Happy anniversary!
