Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko congratulated the winners of the fifth season of the All-Russian competition of professional skills among social studies teachers.

“Our President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin draws attention to social studies and says that this is the legal foundation of the entire education of our younger generation. It is also the most popular subject for passing the Unified State Exam (USE). This year, social studies was chosen by almost 300 thousand graduates,” said the Deputy Prime Minister.

He emphasized that students realize the importance of this subject for their future life, so they choose it for their graduation exam.

He emphasized that today at the premises of the Russian Law Academy (RLA), five of the most talented teachers will be awarded, who with their pedagogical gift, nurturing children, instill in them a love for social science, the foundation of which is law.

The Deputy Prime Minister thanked the All-Russian State University of Justice (RPA of the Ministry of Justice of Russia) for organizing and developing the project. He noted that the government will support the university in its initiative.

Among the finalists of the competition are social studies teachers in schools: Tatyana Marminova, Pavel Belogub, Kseniya Ivanova, Kseniya Belyntseva, Aleksey Ostrovskiy, Olga Galitovskaya, Kristina Obunova, Olga Zenchenko, Irina Baldakova, and Evgeniy Trifonov.

The rector of VSU Olga Alexandrov also welcomed it. “Every year we become more convinced that interest in our competition only grows. This year, 1,800 contestants from various corners of our vast homeland participated in it. You are all already winners!” she said.

The chief editor of the RT channel Margarita Simonyan emphasized that law is what the state relies on. She added that graduates will defend the right of citizens to live in a rule-of-law state, “the right that this state is guarded by law, and the right to expect from the state the protection of our interests in the legal field.”

The winner of the competition was Evgeny Trifonov. Second place was taken by Pavel Belogub, third – Ksenia Ivanova. The top three leaders received the opportunity to study at the university.

The All-Russian professional skills competition among social studies teachers was organized by the All-Russian State University of Justice (RPA of the Ministry of Justice of Russia). The competition consisted of three stages: remote, open lessons, and the final stage – it took place on May 28 in the building of VGYuR.
