The report describes the main results of the work within the framework of the initiative that have been achieved to date:
- Reduction of staff by 21 percent in 2026 with minimal damage to the existing personnel
- The integration of 11 specialized teams into a common administrative platform, servicing 6 thousand employees in New York (eventually, five more UN departments, located in different parts of the planet, will be connected to the platform)
- Launch of the UN Digital Hub in Valencia, Spain, to support digital services at the level of the entire UN Secretariat
- Merger of 10 payroll centers into one unified team
- Transfer of 220 Secretariat employees from regions with high living costs to regions with lower ones
- Launch of the process of reducing managerial positions
- Pilot implementation of the New Humanitarian Agreement in five crisis regions (Afghanistan, Haiti, Occupied Palestinian Territory, Somalia, and Sudan). The project foresees the unification of supply chains, through which up to 70 percent of all humanitarian shipments pass.
