At the largest Russian commercial transport exhibition COMvex in Moscow, PJSC “KAMAZ” and “Severstal Engineering” presented a new model – the NEFAZ-95094 semi-trailer, created using high-strength steels from the POWERS range.
The NEFAZ-95094 semi-trailer is the first in the product line of PJSC “NEFAZ”, a subsidiary of “KAMAZ” in Bashkortostan, a four-axle basic model with a body volume of 24 m³ and a carrying capacity of 27.125 tons, intended for transporting bulk construction and industrial goods as part of a road train. The new product is displayed in combination with a K5 series saddle tractor – KAMAZ-65659, whose frame is made from ferritic steel of strength class 600 produced by “Severstal”.
The lightweight semi-trailer was designed by the design department of PJSC “NEFAZ” and experts from the Center for the Development of Effective Technological Solutions “Severstal Engineering.” The full cycle—from the client’s request to manufacturing in metal—took a total of 3.5 months. The platform structure was purposefully modernized: engineers changed the geometry and redesigned all the main elements.
For the production of the frame and body of the semi-trailer, a combination of grades from the POWERS high-strength steel line – Powerform 460, 500, and 700 – was used. This allowed reducing the metal consumption of the structure by 20% while preserving the required characteristics and ensuring reliable operation under all calculated conditions. Additionally, the reduction in the own mass of the semi-trailer makes it possible to carry over 500 kg of additional cargo on each trip without violating transportation and weight control rules, providing direct economic benefits to the end consumer.
