Russian cosmonauts conducted a spacewalk from the ISS for the first time in 2026

Moscow, May 28 /Sińhua/ — Russian segment cosmonauts of the International Space Station /ISS/ Sergey Kud-Sverchkov and Sergey Mikaev completed the first spacewalk in open space this year. Roscosmos reported this on Thursday on the Max platform.

The exit began at 17:15 MSK on Wednesday. During six hours and six minutes of work outside the station, the cosmonauts carried out a number of tasks for the scientific program of the ISS flight: installed the equipment for the experiment “Solar-Terager” on the “Zvezda” module of the Russian segment of the ISS; dismantled the cassette of the space experiment “Ekran-M”; removed and brought back to the station the equipment container “Biorisk” from the “Poisk” module.

This was the second space flight in the career of S. Kud-Sverchkov and the first for S. Mikaev. –0–
