In the framework of the next stage of expert selection of the status of national champions, 18 new companies from various industries have been granted it – mechanical engineering, electronics, medicine, chemistry, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and IT sector.

“All companies have passed a multi-stage selection and proven their innovative nature, high level of corporate culture, and orientation towards mastering advanced technologies and new market niches. Behind you is the successful experience of implementing complex projects in the interest of developing our economy, social sphere, and strengthening national security.””Developed competencies and consumer trust allow you to expand your presence both domestically and internationally, primarily in the markets of countries of the global South and the near abroad, contributing to the growth of volumes of Russian non-raw non-energy exports,” noted Denis Manturov.

The total number of national champions already amounts to 160 companies, with a total annual revenue approaching three trillion rubles. Among the new participants are Russian manufacturers of bionic prostheses, high-precision compact milling machines, a biotechnology company with a portfolio of innovative developments for the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of various diseases, and other organizations.

As emphasized by the first vice prime minister, the state, development institutions, the business and scientific communities have united efforts so that innovative businesses receive opportunities for scaling. A key role in this process is played by the development of small technology companies.

“In building this ecosystem, ‘Innopraktika’ and the Russian venture company play a significant role. Over the years of their work, they have created a developed infrastructure to support technological business, which includes a wide range of financial instruments, acceleration programs, and expert mechanisms. To provide national champions with additional incentives for growth, the government is developing a separate registry of companies – technological leaders.””This will allow focusing state support on those who have already established themselves in the innovation field and are ready to compete with leading global players,” said Denis Manturov.

“More than 60 applications from companies holding strong positions in their industries have been received to participate in the selection this year. The new companies — national champions — represent a wide range of high-tech and manufacturing sectors that form the basis of the country’s technological sovereignty and industrial development.”I am confident that many of them in the near future will be able to become participants in priority projects of technological leadership and will receive additional opportunities to scale their solutions thanks to effective tools for supporting innovation and new technologies,” said Natalya Popova, the first deputy general director of Innopraktika, public ombudsman in the field of rights protection of high-tech leading companies.
