Islamabad, May 23 /Xinhua/ — Negotiations between the commander of the Pakistan Army, Asim Munir, and the Iranian leadership during A. Munir’s official visit to Iran over the past 24 hours have led to encouraging progress towards achieving final agreements. This was reported in a statement by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) of the Pakistan Armed Forces, published on Saturday.

As noted in the statement, A. Munir completed a brief but “very productive” visit to Iran, during which he held high-level meetings with the Iranian leadership.

It is added that the meetings are part of ongoing intermediary efforts aimed at facilitating de-escalation and constructive engagement against the background of regional tensions. –0–
