Beijing, May 23 /Xin Hua/ — China has sent six brigades of the national mountain rescue service with a total strength of 345 people equipped with necessary gear to provide assistance in search and rescue operations after a gas explosion at a coal mine in Qinyuan County, Shanxi Province, northern China. The Ministry of Emergency Management of the PRC reported this on Saturday.
A gas explosion occurred at the Lushenyu coal mine on Friday. The death toll has risen to 82 people. Search and rescue operations continue. -0-
