Washington, May 23 /Xin Hua/ — The administration of Donald Trump is preparing to deliver new blows to Iran, despite ongoing diplomatic efforts. This was reported on Friday by American media citing informed sources.
US President D. Trump held a meeting on Friday with senior representatives of the US national security services to discuss further actions regarding Iran. According to a CNN source familiar with the meeting, no decisions about the next steps were made.
D. Trump is seriously considering the possibility of launching new strikes on Iran if a breakthrough in the negotiations is not achieved at the last minute, Axios reported on Friday citing sources directly communicating with the president.
A source close to D. Trump reported that the president expressed the possibility of conducting a final “decisive” major military operation, after which he could announce victory and end the war. However, as Axios notes, there are no signs that the president has made a final decision.
