Ashgabat, May 22 /Sina/ — At a meeting of the Council of Heads of Governments of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) in the capital of Turkmenistan, Ashgabat, participants signed the Concept of Linking Main Transport Arteries Running Across the Territories of the CIS States. This was reported on Friday by the International Information Center of Turkmenistan.
The document was developed by the Ministry of Transport of Kazakhstan at the instruction of the country’s president Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. The concept defines the key directions for the development of the transport system of the CIS and provides for the formation of an integrated network of transportation, ensuring fast, safe, and economically efficient transport routes.
It is expected that the implementation of the document will enhance the attractiveness of CIS countries for international cargo carriers and investors. –0–
