Islamabad, May 22 /Xinhua/ — Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif warmly congratulated the peoples of Pakistan and China on Thursday on the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, reaffirming the strength and all-weather strategic partnership.
In his message on this occasion, the Prime Minister noted that since the establishment of diplomatic relations on May 21, 1951, the friendship between Pakistan and China has steadily grown into a strong partnership based on mutual trust, sovereign equality, and a shared aspiration for peace and development.
Sh. Sharif stated that bilateral relations continue to strengthen and acquire increasing strategic significance against the backdrop of changing regional and global dynamics.
He also particularly noted China’s achievements in economic development, technological progress, the fight against poverty, and national modernization.
According to him, China’s progress continues to serve as a source of inspiration for developing countries and contributes to global peace and prosperity.
Sh. Sharif confirmed Pakistan’s commitment to the One China principle and emphasized Islamabad’s support on the issue, touching upon China’s core interests and its unwavering readiness to strengthen bilateral cooperation in many areas.
The Prime Minister emphasized that China’s support played a key role in the socio-economic development of Pakistan, particularly within the framework of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
He noted that CPEC has made a significant contribution to the development of Pakistan’s infrastructure, ensuring energy security, industrial cooperation, and strengthening regional interconnectedness.
Sh. Sharif emphasized that both countries remain committed to the principles of multilateralism, peaceful coexistence, and inclusive development.
“Let the strong friendship between Pakistan and China grow stronger with each generation,” the prime minister said.
