In the Coordination Center of the Government, the results of the VI All-Russian selection of the best practices for active longevity were summarized. The event was attended by Deputy Chairman of the Government Tatyana Golikova, Minister of Labor Anton Kotyakov, General Director of ANO “National Priorities” Sofia Malyavina, and experts.

“Attention to the older generation is a priority of state policy. The development of active longevity programs is part of the national project ‘Family,’ which was launched on the initiative of the President. Such programs are currently being implemented in all 89 regions of our country. Thanks to them, 9 million of our senior citizens engage in physical exercise, more than 4.5 million participate in various forms of creativity, over 1 million study at the ‘third age’ university, and 400 thousand silver volunteers have found their calling in helping people.”The contest for the best regional active longevity practices has become the most important platform for exchanging experiences and searching for new forms of self-realization for senior citizens. The selection has already taken place six times. This year, the jury selected 100 winners out of nearly 1,350 submitted entries. Each project proves that in the silver age it is possible to expand horizons for professional and personal growth, to be an active participant in social life,” said Tatiana Golikova, Deputy Chairman of the Government, welcoming the contest finalists.

The best practices are defined in five categories: “Information systems about programs and opportunities for the older generation,” “Systemic practices,” “Use of regional infrastructure for organizing active longevity events,” “Innovative practices of active longevity,” and “Practices for men 60+.” All projects will be published in the collection “Active Longevity – 2025” in May 2026, and will also receive expert and communication support from partners and selection organizers.

“In each active longevity practice subject, local specifics and infrastructural capabilities are taken into account. Among the contest participants are social service institutions, NGOs, charitable foundations, volunteer and veteran organizations, business representatives, and proactive citizens. Among the finalists, the most active regions can be identified: among the top 100, there are immediately 7 practices from Krasnoyarsk Krai, 6 works each from Saint Petersburg and Belgorod Oblast, 4 practices each from Vladimir and Yaroslavl Oblasts, the Republic of Tatarstan, and the city of Moscow.”This year we have focused not so much on individual projects as on the creation and development of an active longevity infrastructure. Therefore, from this year, the selection was conducted immediately in four new categories: “Information systems about the program and opportunities for the older generation,” “System practices,” “Use of regional infrastructure for holding active longevity events,” “Innovative practices of active longevity,” – noted the Minister of Labor and Social Protection Anton Kotyakov.

As a result, the best of the best were recognized as 10 practices of active longevity from the Republic of Buryatia, Krasnoyarsk Krai, Arkhangelsk, Moscow, Tula, Omsk, and Sverdlovsk regions. The winners in the nominations “Innovative practices of active longevity” and “Practices for men 60+” received cash prizes of 500 thousand rubles each for the development of their projects.

“The current, sixth selection marked a transition from local practices to the systematic development of active longevity practices in the region. We have not only changed the set of nominations, but for the first time when determining the winners, we applied a geriatric effectiveness assessment. This assessment was conducted by specialists from the Russian Gerontological Scientific and Clinical Center based on scientific methodology,” said Sofia Malyavina, General Director of the National Priorities Autonomous Nonprofit Organization.

The winners in the nomination “Innovative Practices of Active Longevity” were the practices: “Digital Assistant” (Regional Public Organization for the Development of Computer Sports and Digital Technologies with the support of the Vladimir Potanin Charitable Foundation, Arkhangelsk Region), “Telemedicine for Longevity” (Center for Implementation of Changes and Ensuring Activities of the Ministry of Health of the Moscow Region in cooperation with the Ministry of Social Development of the Moscow Region, Moscow Region).

The All-Russian selection of the best practices of active longevity is held annually by ANO “National Priorities” with the support of the Ministry of Labor of Russia. In 2025, the selection was conducted on the “Expertum.rf” platform. The partners of the competition are NIU VShE, the Public Chamber, the “Silver Age” alliance, the Russian Gerontological Scientific and Clinical Center, the Agency for Social Information, the All-Russian Organization of War and Labor Veterans, and the charitable foundation “Pochyot”.

The national project “Family” was launched in Russia in 2025 by the decision of President Vladimir Putin. The main goal of the project is to support families with children, large families, care for reproductive health, and strengthening family values. The national project also provides for the development of initiatives for active longevity, ensuring quality care for the elderly, and the formation of family-oriented cultural infrastructure.
