Dushanbe, May 21 /Xin Hua/ — China and Tajikistan have become a model of mutually beneficial cooperation between neighboring states. This was stated on Wednesday by the Chinese ambassador to Tajikistan, Guo Chizhun, at a briefing at the Chinese embassy in Dushanbe.

From May 11 to 14, at the invitation of the chairman of the CPC Xi Jinping, the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon visited China on a state visit. As noted by the Chinese side, the current visit became another contact between the heads of the two states after last year’s summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and yet another vivid testimony that diplomacy between the leaders continuously advances Chinese-Tajik relations forward.

According to Go Chizhyun, the important results achieved during the visit will give a strong impetus to bringing bilateral relations to an even higher level, in broader areas and at a stage of deeper development.

The Chinese diplomat emphasized that the current visit of E. Rahmon has raised trade-economic and investment cooperation between China and Tajikistan to a new height. During the negotiations, the heads of the two states discussed in detail cooperation in such promising areas as green energy, digital economy, and artificial intelligence, defining directions for the development of the potential of bilateral cooperation.

Go Xizhong added that in the future, the parties will implement important agreements reached by the leaders of the two countries, expand the scale of bilateral trade, optimize its structure, and create new development opportunities for the benefit of the peoples of the two states.
