Moscow, May 21 /Xin Hua/ — At the initiative of Russia, multilateral exercises of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) on countering computer attacks were held. This was reported on Thursday at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.

“On May 19, at the initiative of the Russian chairmanship in the Organization of Collective Security Treaty, multilateral exercises on countering computer attacks took place. The event was held within the framework of the conference program “Digital Industry of Russia” in Nizhny Novgorod,” the ministry’s message states.

“Through establishing feedback connections of competent departments, primarily national computer incident response centers /CERT/, Russian specialists strive to ensure better conditions for improving universal and regional interaction mechanisms, including the Global Intergovernmental Contact Points Registry launched at the UN in 2024,” stated the Russian foreign affairs department.

The results of the exercises confirmed the demand, necessity, and transition to a regular basis and expansion of the participants’ composition. As noted by the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Russia will continue to support these efforts with the aim of strengthening international information security in accordance with the principles of the UN Charter, primarily the principles of sovereign equality of states and international cooperation. –0–
