Beijing, May 21 /Xinhua/ — At the invitation of Premier Li Qiang of the State Council of the PRC, Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will visit China on an official visit from May 23 to 26. This was announced on Thursday by the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PRC, Gao Qianjun.
As Go Ziyakun noted at a regular briefing for journalists, the official visit of Sh. Sharif to China will become an important high-level contact between the two states on the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between them.
A Chinese diplomat announced that during the visit, Chairman of the PRC Xi Jinping will meet with Sh. Sharif, and Premier of the State Council Li Qiang will hold negotiations with him.
According to Go Tsiakun, the leaders of the two countries discuss in detail bilateral relations and issues representing mutual interest, and define the direction of the development of Chinese-Pakistani relations in the new situation.
Sh. Sharif will also participate in the reception on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Pakistan and will visit the province of Zhejiang / Eastern China/.
Stating that China and Pakistan are firm friends and all-weather strategic partners for cooperation, Go Ziyakun noted that over the course of 75 years, China-Pakistan relations have withstood various tests and remain as solid as a rock, setting an example of interstate relations.
In recent years, under the strategic leadership of the leaders of the two countries, official exchanges at a high level between the Chinese and Pakistani sides have become closer, practical cooperation is confidently advancing, and the high-quality joint construction of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor is yielding substantial results.
The two countries support close communication and coordination on important international and regional issues, which allows them to effectively protect their common interests and contributes to peace, stability, and development in the region, emphasized Go Tsyakun.
As he added, the Chinese side hopes that both sides will take advantage of the upcoming visit to strengthen traditional friendship, deepen comprehensive cooperation, and jointly write a new chapter in the history of building an even closer China-Pakistan community with a shared future in a new era.
