Moscow, May 21 /Xin Hua/ — The quality and closeness of ties between young people of Russia and China directly determine the future of bilateral relations. This was stated on Wednesday during a briefing by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, in response to a question from correspondent Xin Hua about the survey conducted, according to which more than 80 percent of representatives of the younger generation in both countries consider Sino-Russian relations friendly.

“Youth is the support of today and the future of every country. The quality and density of connections between young people of the two countries are one of the key factors on which the future of Russian-Chinese relations depends directly,” emphasized the Russian diplomat.

As M. Zaharova pointed out, the good pace of specialized interaction was given by the youth exchanges held between Russia and China in 2014-2015. According to her, over the past 10 years there has been an exclusively positive dynamic in contacts in this area.

The official representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs particularly noted the opening of the cross-border Years of Education, held with the participation of the heads of two states. One of the main tasks of this large-scale interstate project is to create new opportunities for the participation of young specialists in program exchanges and deepening of knowledge about the partner country. “Soon, it will be precisely these young leaders of the future, who will undergo training at friendly universities, who will bear responsibility for preserving and multiplying the traditions of good neighborliness between the peoples of our countries,” M. Zakharova indicated.

“Russia and China are nurturing the younger generation in the spirit of traditional spiritual and moral values. Such spiritual closeness, a shared worldview and ideals are another important pillar for the successful development of bilateral relations in the future,” summarized the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry. –0–
