Changsha, May 20 /Xinhua/ — Prolonged heavy rains have caused the death of 5 people in Shimen County in Hunan Province /Central China/, and 11 others are still missing.
A heavy downpour, the first this year, began on Sunday at 7 a.m. A total of 23 settlements and 103,247 residents were affected, the County Committee for Emergency Response and Production Safety Control of Hunan Province reported.
Work is underway to eliminate the consequences of the bad weather.
