Tehran, May 19 /Xinhua/ — Head of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Abbas Araghchi and Pakistan’s Minister of Interior Naseer Khan Janjua exchanged views here on Monday regarding ongoing efforts to end the war by the USA and Israel against Iran.
They also discussed the current security situation in the region and bilateral cooperation, according to a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran, published on Tuesday.
A. Aragchi highly appreciated Pakistan’s mediation in advancing diplomacy and preventing escalation of tension. He called the main obstacles to the settlement process the “contradictory and maximalist” behavior of the USA and Washington’s failure to fulfill its promises.
M. Naqvi stated that during his two-day visit to Tehran, he held “constructive and fruitful” talks with Iranian officials, including the Speaker of Parliament Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni. He emphasized that the Pakistani government is fully determined to continue developing comprehensive relations with Iran. –0–
