Nanning, May 19 /Xin Hua/ — The 2026 Chinese Internet Civilization Conference was held on Tuesday in the city of Nanning, the administrative center of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region /South China/.
A member of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, head of the Propaganda Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, Li Shulei participated in the conference and delivered a keynote speech there.
Participants of the event noted that after the 18th Congress of the CPC in 2012, China formed a unique approach in the field of cyberspace governance, and in terms of building a state in the field of cyberspace, new steps were taken.
Participants noted that the main provisions of China’s 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-2030) include comprehensive measures to raise moral standards and promote civility in cyberspace. They called for efforts to increase the volume of high-quality online content.
Participants also emphasized the necessity of improving long-term management mechanisms in the online environment and maintaining a clean and honest ecosystem on the internet.
