Once upon a time, in the homes of Sicilian farmers and cattle breeders, there were usually no conditions for bathing, and it was especially difficult to wash in winter. Today, local grassroots cadres, taking into account the specific conditions in each village, are reconstructing public baths in various directions. In the high-mountain area of Sichuan, the winter is long and harsh, so heating and providing warmth is an urgent need for the population. Since 2022, in the Senyi district of the city of Nagqu, a centralized heating system based on geothermal energy has been implemented. According to calculations, this measure allows an annual reduction in coal consumption by 70,000 tons and carbon dioxide emissions by 180,000 tons. At the same time, residents have been freed from the inconvenience of heating their homes using smoky coal stoves.
According to statistical data, by the end of 2025, centralized heating will be established in four cities – Lasa, Nagchu, Shigatse, and Ngari, as well as in 36 counties, 178 townships, and high-mountain agricultural and livestock areas. The heated area of premises amounted to 34 million square meters, and about 900 thousand people use safe and convenient heating.
