From May 20 to 21, 2026, the district stage of the XIV All-Russian Scientific and Practical Conference “Spiritual and Moral Culture in Higher Education. Freedom, Dignity, and Responsibility of the Individual and Challenges of Modern Technologies” will take place.
The event will take place at the site of the Arzamas branch of N.I. Lobachevsky Nizhny Novgorod State University in the city of Arzamas.
The conference plans to discuss current issues of forming, preserving, and developing the value orientations of the modern person, as well as the interaction of the Russian Orthodox Church with higher education institutions and professional educational organizations in order to form and develop personality in accordance with family and social moral and socio-cultural values.
Main thematic sections:
- The influence of spiritual and moral education on the personal development of students;
- Freedom of expression and self-expression on social networks
- Ethical aspects of the use of freedom on the Internet;
- The impact of modern technologies on the sense of self-worth;
- Responsibility of the individual before society in the conditions of technological progress. Humanitarian filter problems for technological development;
- The influence of social networks and digital technologies on the worldview of youth and mass culture in general;
- Protection of moral and ethical values from the negative impact of technology;
- Strategies and approaches for adapting moral and ethical values in the context of modern technologies.
Participation in the discussion of the role of spiritual and moral education in the context of the educational process of student youth can be undertaken by vice-rectors for educational work, those working with students, heads of relevant departments, scientific and pedagogical workers, postgraduates, and students.
Applications are accepted until May 8 on the official Conference website.
The conference is held within the framework of the project “Scientific and Methodological and Expert Support of Activities for the Formation of Spiritual and Moral Culture in Higher Education” according to the assignment of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation and with the support of the Government of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.
