16 postgraduate students of SPbPU became winners of the 2026 competitive selection for the awarding of the Presidential Scholarship of the Russian Federation for postgraduate students and adjuncts. This result is directly linked to the university’s development strategy: Polytech consistently forms an environment for training engineer-researchers and developers, supports talented youth, develops scientific schools, and creates technologies for the economy of the new technological paradigm.
The Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Russia, together with the heads of the working groups on scientific directions of the Council on the issues of appointment and payment of scholarships of the President of the Russian Federation for students in higher education programs, conducted an analysis of the research activities of graduate students (adjuncts) who received a scholarship in their first and second years of study, in order to assess the comparative effectiveness of the provision of the specified support measure.
Based on the results of the expert evaluation of applications for participation in the competitive selection, the winners of the 2026 competitive selection for the appointment of scholarships have been determined. This year, 800 young scientists from Russia will receive scholarships. More than 6 thousand applications were submitted to the competition — the number of participants increased by more than one third compared to last year, and the number of scholarship recipients increased by approximately 60%.
Projects supported by the scholarship relate to key university directions: technical sciences, digital technologies, artificial intelligence and robotics, new materials, energy-efficient and industrial systems.
Among the laureates are graduate students who have publications in leading scientific journals, experience participating in major scientific projects, and applied developments in demand by the economy and industry.
Research is conducted in the Polymer laboratory and scientific group in cooperation with industrial partners, and an industrial graduate program is actively developing.
The SPbPU development program pays special attention to the potential of students and young scientists, involving students and postgraduate students in solving R&D tasks, as well as supporting research and startups of young scientists.
