Baku, May 18 /Xin Hua/ — Azerbaijan firmly supports the one-China policy and opposes any interference in the internal affairs of the PRC. This was stated in an interview with Xin Hua today by deputy of the Milli Majlis /parliament/ of Azerbaijan, head of the working group on inter-parliamentary relations between Azerbaijan and China, Soltan Mamedov.
As the parliamentarian emphasized, Azerbaijan sharply condemns all forms of separatism, considers such phenomena to pose a serious threat to international peace and security, and unwaveringly supports the principle of respecting state sovereignty.
S. Mamedov stated that Azerbaijan does not recognize Taiwan as an independent state and rejects any separatist activities of supporters of “Taiwan independence.” –0–
