Cooperation between China and Russia in various fields yields fruitful results — Vice Premier of the State Council of the PRC

Harbin, May 17 /Xin Hua/ — Cooperation between China and Russia under the strategic leadership of the heads of the two states is yielding fruitful results in various fields. This was stated on Sunday by Vice Premier of the State Council of the PRC Zhang Gozin.

Zhan Xueyin, who is also a member of the Politburo of the CPC Central Committee, made a corresponding statement at the opening ceremony of the 10th China-Russia EXPO in Harbin /administrative center of Heilongjiang Province, Northeast China/.

At the ceremony, Zhang Guoqin and the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, plenipotentiary representative of the President of Russia in the Far Eastern Federal District, Yuri Trutnev, read congratulatory letters from the heads of two states.

Zhan Goitsin said that China is ready, together with Russia, to lead by an important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, to effectively use a platform such as the China-Russia EXPO to fully engage the mechanism of cooperation between Northeast China and the Russian Far East to continuously expand the space for mutually beneficial development.

Yu. Trutnev, in turn, noted that Russia is ready to effectively use the mechanism of intergovernmental cooperation, revealing the potential of interregional interaction and enriching the results of the development of bilateral relations.

Zhan Gotsin and Yu. Trutnev jointly chaired the 6th meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Cooperation between Northeast China and the Russian Far East on May 16.
