Beijing, May 17 /Xinhua/ — On Sunday, a symposium of social sciences on the study and realization of the ideas of Xi Cizhen on culture was held in Beijing, where participants called to accelerate the construction of the Chinese intellectual system in the fields of philosophy and social sciences.
Member of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the CPC and Head of the Propaganda Department of the Central Committee of the CPC Li Shulei took part in the symposium and delivered a speech at it.
Noting that after the 18th CPC Congress in 2012 the community of philosophy and social sciences of China steadfastly promotes innovations in the field of knowledge, theories and methods, the participants of the symposium called for further study and implementation of the ideas of Xi Jinping on culture and acceleration of the construction of the Chinese intellectual system in the field of philosophy and social sciences.
Participants of the event called for deeper systematic and academic research and interpretation of the party’s innovation theories, deeper study of fundamental theoretical and practical issues related to Chinese modernization, and activation of efforts to promote the inheritance and development of Chinese culture, as well as exchange and mutual enrichment between different civilizations.
They stated that these efforts will help open new horizons in the advancement of high-quality development of philosophy and social sciences, as well as bring more wisdom and strength to the promotion of China’s modernization.
