US Business Leaders Seek to Deepen Cooperation with China

Beijing, May 16 /Xin Hua/ — Representatives of American business circles accompanying U.S. President Donald Trump during his visit to China stated that they eagerly await a deepening of cooperation with China.

Leaders of several American enterprises visited the China Committee for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) to discuss issues of expanding cooperation in various fields, from technology to aviation and agriculture.

The leader in agribusiness Cargill has been operating in the Chinese market for over 50 years. Cargill’s Chairman of the Board and CEO, Brian Sik, said that in recent days he and other American business leaders have felt a surge of optimism. The parties have established constructive interaction and the situation is developing in a positive direction.

Cristiano Amon, president and CEO of the American semiconductor manufacturer Qualcomm, noted that he looks with great optimism at the development of artificial intelligence /AI/ in China, emphasizing the opportunities in the industrial sector. “We will continue to expand in China,” he said. “I think the future is very promising.”

Chairman of the US-China Business Council (USCBC) John Frisbie stated that the current meeting of heads of the two states creates favorable conditions for further deepening economic, trade, and investment cooperation between the business circles of the two countries. He assured that the USCBC will continue working on promoting further deepening of exchanges and cooperation between the business communities of China and the USA.
