Experts from the Ufa Scientific Institute of “Rosneft” together with geologists from the largest producing asset of the company “RN-Yuganskneftegaz” conducted a large-scale study of the Achimov deposits on the territory of the Salym field. The potential recoverable reserves are estimated at more than 90 million tons of oil, which is 12 times higher than the indicators at the time of discovery of the deposit.

Specialists studied all archival data and took into account new geological information obtained from drilling results, performed mapping of the site, and also conducted seismic and geological correlations. Thanks to this comprehensive approach, they managed to study in detail one of the key reservoirs of the field and update the geological model of oil deposit placement.

In 2025, three high-productivity horizontal wells were put into operation at the Achimov deposits of the field. Their average initial production rate was 221 tons of oil per day. The average production per well over 5 months of operation exceeded 18.6 thousand tons (which is more than 3 times the production of an average well of “RN-Yuganskneftegaz” in 2025).

Rosneft is forming ambitious plans for further exploration and active development of the Achimov deposits at the Salym field. The introduction of 15 new wells is planned for 2026. The potential project portfolio consists of up to 1,000 wells with an expected production rate of up to 110 tons of oil per day.
