Bishkek, May 14 /Xin Hua/ — The final stage of the “Chinese Language Bridge” contest among secondary school students of Kyrgyzstan took place on Thursday in the capital city of Bishkek. Thirteen schoolchildren from the country participated in it.
Speaking at the event, Li Hua, Advisor-Attache of the PRC Embassy in Kyrgyzstan, emphasized that with the rapid development of Chinese-Kyrgyz cooperation, the popularity of the Chinese language in Kyrgyzstan is constantly growing. More and more young people are choosing it as a promising direction for education and professional development.
The Chinese diplomat expressed hope that Kyrgyz students will value the opportunities provided, strive for new knowledge, and in the future become active continuers of friendship between China and Kyrgyzstan.
The Director of the Education Department of the Bishkek Mayor’s Office, Ralat Musaev, stated that in Kyrgyzstan the interest in the competition among students is growing, thanks to which they not only study the language, but also get a wonderful opportunity to get acquainted with the culture, history, customs, and traditions of China.
As noted by the rector of the Kyrgyz National University named after Jusup Balasagyn, Dogdurbek Chontoev, mastering the Chinese language will open up broader opportunities for the representatives of the younger generation of Kyrgyzstan for development, will help them continuously improve their professional skills and comprehensive qualifications. He expressed confidence that the participants of the competition will make a positive contribution to the development of cultural and humanitarian exchanges and cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and China.
The competition included stages such as a presentation on a given topic, a talent show, storytelling based on a picture, answering questions about the Chinese language, Chinese culture, and China. As a result of the intense competition, the winner was Nurélita Erkinbekova, an eighth-grade student of school-gymnasium No. 95 in Bishkek.
“Thanks to this contest, I gained a lot of experience and also made a big step in learning the Chinese language. I will continue to study Chinese and achieve even greater results,” said the winner.
The event was jointly organized by the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Kyrgyzstan and the Confucius Institute at the Kyrgyz National University named after Jusup Balasagyn. –0–
