Beijing, May 14 /Xin Hua/ — As the host party of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), China is ready to hold the second meeting of APEC senior officials from May 18 to 19 in Shanghai in 2026. This was announced on Thursday by the official representative of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Gao Ziyang.
He made such a statement at another departmental press conference in response to a relevant journalists’ request, announcing that the agenda of the upcoming meeting will include summarizing the interim results of cooperation within ATES by mid-year, gathering an “early harvest” from the work of this organization, as well as laying the foundation for the fruitful conduct of various events and the ATES summit in the second half of the year.
According to the diplomat’s report, ahead of this meeting from May 11 to 17, the profile commissions and working groups of APEC plan to hold about 40 sessions and meetings dedicated to issues such as trade and investment, interaction in the field of economy and technology, women’s affairs, telecommunications, and food security. -0-
