Moscow, May 13 /Xin Hua/ — Russia hopes that Washington will stop linking the development of bilateral cooperation with the Ukrainian settlement so that the way will be opened for a number of economic projects as a whole. This was stated on Wednesday at a conference call by the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Peskov.
“As soon as the American side is ready not to tie the prospects of normalization of trade and economic relations to Ukrainian settlement, or as soon as the Ukrainian settlement occurs, then, we hope, the way to implementing a number of economic projects will be opened,” indicated D. Peskov.
“On the agenda of Russian-American relations, there could be many mutually beneficial projects in the field of mutual investments, economy, and so on. These projects could really be quite useful and profitable from an economic point of view for both Russian companies and American ones,” added the Kremlin representative.
According to him, Russia is in constant contact with the United States regarding the Ukrainian settlement. “These contacts are carried out on a permanent basis. And since they act as intermediaries, there is also an exchange of information with the Ukrainian side,” D. Peskov said.
