By the end of 2025, the total electricity economy at the company “Samotlornneftegaz” (a production asset of “Rosneft”) amounted to almost 290 million kWh, which in monetary terms exceeds 1.5 billion rubles. For comparison, approximately the same volume over 2 months is consumed by the city of Nizhnevartovsk with a population of over 270 thousand people.
Within the framework of the energy-saving program at the enterprise’s production facility, more than 4,000 measures were implemented, covering a wide range of directions—from equipment modernization to improving methods of managing technological processes. Such a large-scale approach ensured a sustainable effect and laid the foundation for further efficiency improvement.
More than 56% of the total economy was achieved through the optimization of the operation of the mechanized mining fleet. A key factor in the result was the application of a modern methodology for determining the volumes of oil in the producible reservoir fluid. This allowed for a significant increase in accounting accuracy, improved production management, and, as a result, reduced excessive energy consumption.
The implementation of a complex of repair and insulation works on the mechanized production well fund ensured savings of more than 11 million kWh of energy resources.
As part of the modernization of the reservoir pressure maintenance system, centrifugal sectional pumps at the site of six cluster pumping stations were replaced. As a result of commissioning units with a higher efficiency factor, it was possible to save over 8.9 million kWh of electricity.
The implementation of a series of events to replace electrocentrifugal pump units and submersible electric motors with asinchronous motors has overall reduced energy consumption by 1.06 million kW.
Special attention is given to digitalization and increasing the transparency of production processes. In particular, for the operational control of the reservoir pressure maintenance system, a proprietary unique program for monitoring the operation of water intake wells has been implemented. The tool provides regular analysis of the pump equipment operation, allows tracking changes in pressure and injection volumes, and also timely adjusts operating modes by changing the engine speed.
