Denis Manturov held the 14th meeting of the Russian-Indonesian Joint Commission on Trade, Economic and Technical Cooperation
First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Government Denis Manturov and Minister – Coordinator for Economic Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia Airlangga Hartarto held the 14th meeting of the Russian-Indonesian Joint Commission on Trade, Economic, and Technical Cooperation within the framework of the international forum “Russia – Islamic World: KazanForum”.
Priority attention is given to the economic agenda. The turnover between Russia and Indonesia over the past five years has grown more than twice, and by the end of 2025 is expected to approach 5 billion dollars.
An additional factor in increasing and diversifying trade turnover should be the Agreement on Free Trade between the Eurasian Economic Union and Indonesia, signed at the end of last year. We anticipate that by the end of the year, all domestic procedures required for its entry into force will be completed by all parties. The improvement of conditions for mutual access of goods to markets should be accompanied by an expansion of direct contacts between our entrepreneurs.A good additional opportunity for this is provided by the July exhibition “Innoprom” in Yekaterinburg, where Indonesia will participate as a partner country,” said Denis Manturov.
Questions of interaction in the fields of agriculture, energy, transport, industry, and high technologies are also considered.
“Activating dialogue in the space industry contributed to the participation of a high-level Indonesian delegation in the Space Week held in Russia last month. There are already a number of promising projects in the portfolio. In particular, Russia has unique competencies and experience for the training and organization of the flight of the first Indonesian cosmonaut,” emphasized Denis Manturov.
The parties noted the importance of ensuring sustainable interactions. In addition, there was an exchange of views on cooperation in the humanitarian sphere, including education, culture, and sports. A positive assessment was given to the expansion of mutual tourist exchanges.
Following the event, Denis Manturov and Airlangga Hartarto signed the protocol of the 14th meeting of the Russian-Indonesian Joint Commission on Trade, Economic, and Technical Cooperation.
