Beijing, May 12 /Xinhua/ — Countries in the Asia-Pacific region must maintain vigilance, resist the reckless actions of Japanese neo-militarism, and jointly protect the peaceful order on which their existence and development depend. This was stated on Tuesday by the official spokesperson of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Gao Zijian.
Go Tsyakun made an appropriate statement at the regular briefing for journalists, answering the corresponding question.
Recalling that Japanese militarism brought enormous suffering to the peoples of the Asia-Pacific region, the Chinese diplomat noted that the current prosperity and development of the countries in this region are based on a peaceful foundation laid by the international order after World War II.
According to Go Tszyakun, today it is impossible to ignore that the right-wing forces in Japan, through their de facto line of behavior and practical actions, are accelerating the destruction of this order and undermining this foundation.
The “gray rhinoceros” of Japan’s remilitarization is heading towards us,” warned an official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China, noting that many international experts, scientists, and mass media indicate that Japan has already abandoned pacifism and is making the most dangerous post-war turn in the military sphere and in the area of security, which threatens peace and stability in the region and worldwide.
History cannot be forgotten, and reality cannot be ignored, concluded Go Czakun.
