Tehran, May 12 /Sina UA/ — Tehran may consider the possibility of increasing uranium enrichment levels to 90 percent if the country is attacked again. This was stated by the representative of the Committee on National Security and Foreign Policy of the Iranian Parliament, Ebrahim Rezaei.

“One of Iran’s options in case of a new attack may be to increase the level of enrichment /uranium/ to 90 percent. We will consider this in parliament,” wrote E. Rezaei on the social network X.

Meanwhile, the head of the Atomic Energy Organization of the Islamic Republic, Mohammad Eslami, stated on Monday that the country’s nuclear technologies and uranium enrichment are not subject to discussion, the official IRNA news agency reported.

After 40 days of hostilities, which began with joint attacks by the USA and Israel on Tehran and other Iranian cities on February 28, Iran, the United States, and Israel reached agreements to cease fire on April 8.

After the conclusion of the ceasefire, the delegations of Iran and the USA held a round of peace talks in the capital of Pakistan, Islamabad, on April 11 and 12, which did not lead to an agreement.

Over the past few weeks, the two sides, it is reported, exchanged several proposed options through Pakistan, in which the terms for ending the conflict were outlined. Donald Trump called Iran’s response to the latest US proposal for ending the war “absolutely unacceptable.” –0–
