At the St. Petersburg State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering, the IX International Scientific and Practical Conference “Information Modeling in Construction and Architecture” (BIMAC-2026) was held, taking place from April 27 to 30. The conference once again became one of the largest sectoral platforms, bringing together representatives of government authorities, professional communities, educational organizations, and software developers to discuss issues of digital transformation in the construction industry.
Within the framework of BIMAK-2026, nine specialized sections were held, dedicated to various directions in the application of modern digital technologies:
- plenary session “Digital twins in construction and architecture”;
- section “Digital Restoration of Cultural Heritage Objects”;
- estimate section;
- transport section;
- section “Realities of the application of information modeling technologies”;
- Section “Artificial Intelligence in the Tasks of Construction and Architecture”;
- Section “Seamless” education in the field of information technology modeling (school-college-university-employer);
- Section “General questions of application of information modeling technologies”;
- Section “Digital Technologies in Construction”.
More than 110 speakers participated in the conference – leading industry experts, representatives of government authorities, software developers, employees of scientific and educational organizations.
Special attention at the conference hall was given to the implementation of information modeling technologies, the development of domestic software, the digitization of construction processes, the application of artificial intelligence, as well as the preservation of cultural heritage sites using modern digital tools.
One of the key directions of the business program was the topicdigital restoration of cultural heritage objects. Participants discussed the use of laser scanning technologies, the creation of digital twins of historical buildings, the formation of digital archives, and the development of regulatory frameworks for working with cultural heritage sites.
An important part of BIMAK-2026 was the development of cooperation between the university, government bodies, and industrial partners. During the conference, six cooperation agreements were signed:
- The cooperation agreement with the Committee for Urban Planning Policy of the Leningrad Region is timed to the launch of the project “Digital Revival of Architectural Heritage Objects of the Leningrad Region” and is aimed at developing practice-oriented training of students using information modeling technologies;
- agreement on the establishment of the corporate department of JSC “VIZARDSOFT”;
- cooperation agreement with the company LLC “RUSEKO-STRÓIPROEKT”;
- agreement on cooperation with the company LLC “Rendzhvizhn”;
- agreement on cooperation with the company LLC “GIP GROUP SOLYUSHNS”;
- Agreement on the provision by LLC “Nanosoft Development” of assistance in the implementation of educational programs in specialties and areas of training of higher education, necessary for carrying out activities in the field of information technology.
One of the central events of the conference was the exhibition “End-to-End Technologies in Construction and Architecture Tasks,” where domestic software solutions and equipment used at various stages of the life cycle of capital construction projects were presented. Participants were able to familiarize themselves with technologies of information modeling, solutions in the field of VR and AR, laser scanning, additive technologies, and unmanned aviation systems.
Within the framework of BIMAK-2026, a digital lecture was also held, where representatives of practicing companies shared with SPbGASU students their experience in applying modern digital technologies in design and engineering surveys.
Special attention was paideducational agenda. As part of the conference, defenses of projects by participants of the III All-Russian TIM Championship of SPBGASU took place. The SPO League 2026, which united students from 11 colleges from various regions of Russia. Participants developed integrated projects of multi-apartment residential buildings using information modeling technologies.
In addition, the award ceremony for the winners and prize-winners of the schoolchildren’s Olympiad “All-Russian School TIM-Championship SPbGASU” season 2025/2026 took place. More than 20 schoolchildren from grades 8–11 from eight regions of Russia took part in the final stage of the Olympiad.
On April 28 and 29, as part of the conference, a skills enhancement program “II-engineer in construction and architecture tasks” was organized. The course attendees were 25 people, including university lecturers, project staff, and construction organization employees.
A significant event of the business program was the round table “Application of domestic software,” organized jointly with the construction industry consortium of the NWFD. Participants discussed issues of industry transition to domestic digital solutions, integration of software products, and the formation of a unified digital environment in construction.
An additional platform for professional communication became the intellectual game in the format “What? Where? When?”, organizedAnastasiya Kiryushina– the author of the Telegram channel “Let’s manage #BIM.” 50 people participated in the game, divided into six teams.
The implementation of BIMAC-2026 became possible thanks to the participation and support of industry associations, the professional community, and industrial partners.
An important role in the organization of the conference and championship was played by the National Association of Builders (NOSTROI), the National Association of Designers and Surveyors (NOPRIZ), the Construction Industry Consortium of the Northwestern Federal District, and the SRO Association “OsnovaProekt”.
The business program of the conference was formed with the participation of LLC “RUSEKO-STROYPROEKT”, JSC “Atomenergoproekt”, ARSITIM, LLC “Vysotsky Consulting”, LLC “Indorsoft”, LLC “Kredo-Dialog Company” and LLC “MIDAS”.
The partners of the competition “All-Russian TIM-Championship SPbGASU. SPO League 2026” became LLC “Renga Software”, JSC “VIZAR DSOFT”, GK ASKON, LLC “Nanosoft Development”, LLC “SiSoft Development” and LLC “Larix”.
At the exhibition “Through technologies in the construction and architecture tasks,” LLC “ROMBIT”, UAVProf, GIP VISION, JSC “VIZARDSOFT” and RangeVision participated.
The informational partners of the conference were “Kodeks”, the magazine “Sovremenny dom” (Modern House), the portal “Helpinver”, LLC “Spektr Global”, the Telegram channels “Prosto o smetah” (Simply About Estimates) and “Let’s manage #BIM”, as well as BIMSERT. The conference organizers noted the significant contribution of the portal of the Committee on Construction of St. Petersburg “Stroitelny Peterburg” (Construction Petersburg) for the informational support of the BImAK-2026 events.
For the participants of the All-Russian TIM Championship SPBGASU. Liga SPO 2026, excursions took place within the framework of the project “Petersburg Through the Eyes of an Engineer.” The participants with interest familiarized themselves with the iconic objects of the city from the standpoint of engineering solutions.
BIMAK-2026 once again confirmed the status of SPBGASU as one of the key platforms for professional discussion of issues of digital transformation of the construction industry, development of information modeling technologies and training of new generation specialists. Already next year the conference will celebrate an anniversary – the X International Scientific and Practical Conference BIMAK will be held.
